AZ wins for the fourth time in a row at PSV “This is a mega team performance”

AZ is now turning out to be a true fear gegner for PSV. The Alkmaarders won the last game before the winter break with 0-1 and are therefore fully participating in the title fight again. “This is really a mega team performance”, defender Sam Beukema says afterwards.

At PSV, everything seemed to be about making it a festive evening. Football legend Romario was in the Philips Stadium, Ajax had lost points at FC Emmen earlier in the evening and could therefore take the lead more firmly in the event of a victory. “And then AZ comes to visit,” says trainer Pascal Jansen, who sees that AZ wins for the fourth season in a row in Eindhoven.

With a view to the ranking, AZ has done excellent business with the victory over PSV. The gap has been narrowed to just one point and AZ is again fully involved in the title fight. “We wanted to keep the connection at all costs,” says the coach. The Alkmaarders will enter the winter break in fourth place, but Ajax and PSV have come to a point. Feyenoord is still in action and could possibly make a gap of four points.

The selection of AZ can enjoy football-free weeks for a number of weeks. The players will report back to the training complex on December 5 to work towards the second half of the season.
