In just a week it would be soweiz: On October 28th the album HER LOSS by Drake and 21 Savage will be released. The two rappers have worked together in the past. This is also the case with the song “Jimmy Cooks”, whose music video went online on Saturday (October 22nd) and at the same time is the announcement for the forthcoming album – a little confusing, this is not a harbinger of HER LOSS, but a song by HONESTLY NEVERMIND, Drake’s last album.
In the YouTube version of the song, instead of the 21 Savage part, the beat slows down and a new melody begins. The two rappers are seen having a conversation while various videos are playing in the background.
The Republic Records label, which handles the distribution of the album, confirmed the release date with a tweet.

The joint album is not a big surprise, because in addition to other joint songs like “Knife Talk”, “sneak”, “Issa” or “Mr.Right Now”, the two have already developed a friendly relationship in the past. So 21 Savage has the Canadian in one GQ Interview 2018 referred to as a mentor. He also said when asked about his Ferrari 488 (seen in the Sneakin video) that he bought it himself, “but Drake bought me one for my birthday to drive around LA. He was the only one that brought me in gave something for her birthday this year.”
HER LOSS is Drake’s second collaborative album and 21 Savage’s fourth. The Toronto rapper collaborated with Future on WHAT A TIME TO BE ALIVE in 2015. Meanwhile, the Atlanta-based rapper has released SAVAGE MODE (2016) and SAVAGE MODE 2 (2020) with producer Metro Boomin. Also in 2017 the album WITHOUT WARNING together with Offset.
