Brewery De Halve Maan opens new bottling plant

The construction of the bottling plant took place in the middle of the corona crisis. “Just during this crisis, the brewery went through its heaviest investment program in its history. Due to multiple lockdowns in the various markets, the brewery experienced a reduced turnover and cash flow in the past two years,” it sounds.

Work on the new bottling plant also took longer than anticipated due to delays, lockdowns, delivery problems and shortages at suppliers.

Fill three times more

Brewery De Halve Maan received an environmental permit for the construction at the beginning of 2019. The plans include new filling lines that are three times the size of the old line. The new bottling plant can fill 24,000 bottles per hour, the barrel line up to 180 barrels per hour.

In addition, additional tanks, filtration, warehouses, warm rooms and logistics transhipment were added, geared to the extra capacity. It concerns a total investment of 25 million euros.
