Belarus has started military exercises near the city of Brest near the Polish border, the capital Minsk and the northeastern region of Vitebsk that lies close to the border with Russia. According to the Ministry of Defense, training is taking place on “liberating territory temporarily occupied by the enemy” and regaining control over border regions.
