Three hundred asylum seekers sleep outside tonight: ‘Puzzle got bigger’

Ecclesiastical refugee organization Stichting Inlia from Groningen also expects to be able to offer help with the reception of asylum seekers from Ter Apel. Of the hundreds of asylum seekers who were evacuated yesterday, Inlia took care of 42, writes RTV North. They are housed in the city of Groningen. They can also stay there for the next few days.

Spokesperson John van Tilborg of the foundation expects more places to be made available. “We have several locations available in ‘City’ and the provinces of Groningen and Drenthe. These are places that have been offered by municipalities, but which the COA has not used so far,” he says. There would also be opportunities to accommodate asylum seekers in churches, youth centers or outbuildings.

Defense also announced that it will help Ter Apel. A location is also made available. It is not yet known exactly where that is.
