Trade unions Brussels Airlines postpone decision on strike after new proposal from management | Inland

Last week, the unions already submitted a strike notice for the pilots of the Belgian airline. The cabin crew would also decide on a notice today, and the date of the strike would be announced.

According to the unions, the management has come up with proposals for cabin crew at the last minute. They first want to thoroughly study the unions, they say. That is why they postpone their decision by 24 hours until 2 pm on Thursday afternoon. “We will consider all elements in our decision whether or not to proceed with a cabin crew strike notice,” it said.

Both the pilots and the cabin crew of the airline are dissatisfied with the workload. The increased demand for air travel is putting pressure on work organisation, it said. The pilots are also dissatisfied that the management does not want to index their cafeteria plan, a budget for fringe benefits. The management made it clear that they want to talk about the workload, but not about indexation.
