Why reinvent hot water when you can just peek at a success song? A Chinese car manufacturer is launching a striking electric car with the ORA 7. One look at the nose is enough to see from which German luxury brand the designers drew their inspiration.

Anyone who spots the round headlights and the sloping hood inevitably thinks of the Porsche Panamera. Yet you can clearly see that it is a different car as soon as you look at the side view.
The car sits quite high on its wheels and the general proportions feel rather awkward. “Just like with a Chinese Elvis Presley impersonator, you can see what the intention was,” reports ‘Top Gear’.
No sporting ambitions
With a length of 4.89 meters, the electric car takes up more space than an Audi A5. But there are no real sporting ambitions, such as with Porsche.
The heaviest version of the ORA 7 squeezes barely 218 hp from the electric motor, while the top speed is capped at 180 km/h.
The model does feature modern technology, including a striking LiDAR sensor on the roof for driver assistance systems. Anyone who wants to show off this Porsche doppelgänger will have to go to China: there are no plans for a European launch.
