The outdoor outfitter Bergfreunde GmbH has underlined its growth ambitions by opening a new office location in Tübingen. This complements the existing capacities at the company headquarters in Kirchentellinsfurt, which is just a few kilometers away.
Managing director Ronny Höhn explained the step. “We have been growing continuously for many years and are increasingly reaching spatial limits at our main location,” he explained in a statement published on Wednesday. “With the new office, we are creating the conditions for further growth and offering our teams the necessary jobs for the coming years.”
The online retailer, which has been part of the Decathlon Group since the beginning of 2024, has been able to achieve consistent double-digit sales growth in recent years.
According to the company, the new location has a total of 600 square meters of office space and offers space for a total of 40 workstations. Among other things, “design and development tasks as well as creative work areas” will be located there. In addition, a dedicated photo studio was set up to expand “the possibilities for creating visual content”.
One reason for the choice of location was the proximity to the existing company headquarters, which, according to the announcement, can be reached within a few minutes via a “direct bicycle route”. “It was important to us to create additional space without losing the close cooperation within the company,” explained managing director Mathias Gebhard. “The proximity to the headquarters offers ideal conditions for this.”
