Crown Princess of Norway Mette-Marit’s son Marius Borg Høiby29, was sentenced Monday to four years in prison. He was convicted in the Oslo District Court for, among other things, two rapes, intimate partner violence, a serious drug offense and other crimes. It remains to be seen how long Marius will be in prison.

Marius appealed the verdict, so the matter will go to the Court of Appeal. Despite his request, he was not released from pretrial detention.

Before the sentence was read, Marius was transferred from Oslo prison to Norway’s most notorious prison.
