McDonald’s no longer has vegan burgers in its menu.

McDonald’s has changed its hamburger offering, as the McVegan hamburger and the Vegan Burger have been removed from the menu.

– Instead, we have launched a McVeggie veggie burger and a rye version of the same burger. In addition to this, we have changed the recipe of some of the products in such a way that we have replaced the previous soy patty with a new vegetable patty, says the marketing manager of McDonald’s in Finland The fairy tale Ylikortes For Iltalehti.

According to Ylikorte, the McVeggie can easily be modified into a vegan burger by omitting the cheddar cheese.

He states that extensive consumer testing has shown that cheddar melt cheese increased the taste and texture considerably.

– Unfortunately, we did not achieve the same result with dairy-free products. Our main goal is always to offer our customers delicious and high-quality food, which is why we decided to make this change.

The change happened yesterday, Wednesday.

In Some’s Sipsikalveganit group, the hamburger reform has not been received with joy:

– It’s a shame that Mcvegan has been the only fast food burger I’ve liked. This new steak is just awful.

– This is an annoyingly bad direction, especially when Mäkkäri has even advertised that vegan steaks and French fries are fried separately from meat products.

– I was totally amazed when there was no vegan hamburger in the selection and we had to continue the journey elsewhere.

– It’s a shame, Mcvegan was my favorite. Now the good steak is gone, and the new one doesn’t even contain pickles.

– Now it’s a bad decision from Mäkkäri.

– That it is a miserable reform. Hese, who has been chasing after years in this combo, passes by throwing.

Ylikortes says that several plant-based options have been tested based on customer feedback. According to the feedback, taste, juiciness and crispness are the most important elements in a hamburger.

– We felt that our previous recipe did not fully meet these expectations. The use of wheat protein enabled a steak that is juicier on the inside and crispier on the outside. This time we had to make a difficult choice while balancing different needs and preferences, while developing our vegetable products, says Ylikortes.

According to him, McDonald’s understands that the product may no longer be suitable for everyone.

– We have received customer feedback after the change, and we appreciate everyone who wrote to us. Based on the feedback, we continue to develop our selection, and we try to take all opinions into account as much as possible.
