the glitch behind Sainz’s mistake

The Spaniard retired after a driving error on the second lap of the Australian F1 GP. But, since qualifying, he has been haunted by a problem behind the wheel

Charles Leclerc’s victory in the Australian GP inevitably reminded us of Ferrari’s golden years in F1. A dazzling success, that of the talent from Monte Carlo, able to dominate from the first to the last lap of the race and inflict heavy gaps on all rivals – regardless of the technical problem that knocked out rival Verstappen – as happened at culmination of Michael Schumacher’s triumph epic in red. However, the glittering weekend in Melbourne also had a dark side in Carlos Sainz’s retirement, who ended up burying himself in the escape routes on the second lap of the GP. A driving mistake cost a lot of money, which the driver admitted. Of course, the Spaniard was also haunted by technical problems right from qualifying, factors that certainly didn’t make life easy for him.
