A report from an observant passerby led to a large drug discovery in a house on Kapelmeesterlaan in Tilburg on Wednesday evening. In total, approximately three kilos of ketamine were found and seized. Two officers were injured during the arrest of the resident.

Around seven o’clock in the evening, the police received a report that something might be going on in or around the house. Officers immediately went to the scene. What exactly the passer-by had observed has not been revealed.

Strong chemical odor
During the deployment, officers noticed that there was a strong, chemical odor in and around the home that they recognized as possibly drugs. This gave the police reason to further search the house, after permission from the public prosecutor.

The resident was arrested, but did not cooperate and violently resisted arrest. Two officers were injured. They later had to seek treatment from a doctor.

Multiple packages
In a storage room behind the house, officers came across several packages containing a powdery substance. The total amount was approximately three kilos of ketamine. The drugs were immediately seized and will be destroyed.

The police are further investigating the origin of the drugs and the involvement of the arrested suspect.
