RRome, May 4th (askanews) – Al Biopark of Rome a was born Bennett’s kangarooa species that includes among the smallest representatives of this peculiar family of animals. These days it is possible to observe the cute baby coming out of mom’s pouchhops to explore the area and then returns to safety.

These marsupials, which feed mainly on grass, fruits and roots, move using their tail as a prop and placing all their paws on the ground, but when they move quickly they jump on their hind legs using the long tail as a balancer. The males have a height of about 80 cm and are easily recognizable because they are larger than the females. The gestation of this species lasts approximately one month and 10 days.

At birth weighs less than a gramat the moment of birth it climbs up to the pouch, where it clings to a breast with its mouth, remaining there for approximately 9 months; subsequently he continues to live with his mother and be breastfed for up to 14-17 months.
