The Florida Panthers rose from a 1-3 loss to a 4-3 win against Buffalo Sabers after a weak opening round. About Finns in Florida Alexander Barkov bait two goals and Eetu Luostarinen one.
Buffalo took the lead in 6.27 Victor Olofsson with superior paint. Florida’s recent striker acquisition Claude Giroux leveled off a couple of minutes later, but for the first break, Buffalo was able to breathe in a 1-3 lead Mark I stay and Jeff Skinnerin after the goals.
In the second installment, Florida managed to catch the lead. First Patric Hörnqvist narrowed down at 29.30, aided by a small-scale fortune-teller. The puck bounced through several skates to Hörnqvist, who bounced the Buffalo guard Dustin Tokarskin through the back of the goal from behind the net. Luostarinen scored from Hörnqvist.
Five minutes later, Barkov sent the puck from the blue line toward Buffalo’s goal. Sam Reinhart got the ball in front of the goal and scored 3-3.
For a long time, it seemed in the final installment that a solution would have to be found through a longer formula. Just 38 seconds before the final buzzer Sam Bennett became Florida’s hero, hitting the winning goal. At the end of the spectacular pass, Barkov served Bennett with a silver tray in front of the goal, and the attacker only needed to place the shoulder on the ice and squeeze the puck decisively over the goal line.
In addition to the winning goal, Bennett managed to celebrate a great frontier laundry as he was hit in the 100th NHL of his career.
Florida managed to climb over several goals to win the second time in the tube. On the night between Tuesday and Wednesday, Florida sensationally turned a 1-5 loss to a 7-6 win over the Toronto Maple Leafs. This time the mountain was a little lower to climb, but for Florida, the main thing is that the score grabbed along.
