Fenerbahçe Safiport, who defeated Czech representative ZVVZ USK Prague 83-74 in the Basketball FIBA Women’s Europa League Final Four, advanced to the final.
ZVVZ USK Prague scored points with offensive rebounds at the beginning of the match, while Fenerbahçe Safiport was influential with Iagupova’s scorer game. The yellow-dark blue team finished the first period 28-23, which was the scene of a head-to-head fight.
Capturing a 13-0 series in the second period and taking the lead for the first time, ZVVZ USK Prague brought the situation to 41-36 in the 16th minute. The Czech team had a great advantage (22-12) in rebounds against Fenerbahçe Safiport in the first half. ZVVZ USK Prague, who gained 12 offensive rebounds in the first half and took the lead with second chances, went ahead 45-38 at halftime.
Starting the third quarter fast, ZVVZ USK Prague increased the lead to double digits: 50-38. Evaluating the opponent’s turnovers, Sabally and Zahui’s baskets narrowed the gap and the yellow-dark blue team made the score 56-51 in the 17th minute. The final period was entered with the 63-59 superiority of the Czech representative.
Fenerbahce Safiport, who entered the fourth quarter with a 13-0 series and took the lead again, brought the situation to 72-63 in the 34th minute. The yellow-dark blue team, who held the score advantage with their successful defense in the last period, won the fight 83-74 and went to the final.
Iagupova became the top scorer of the match with 24 points in the yellow-dark blue team. Oblak’s 22 points could not prevent the defeat in ZVVZ USK Prague.
Fenerbahçe Safiport was the opponent of Hungarian team Sopron Basket in the final. The final match between the two teams will be held on Sunday, April 10. ZVVZ USK Prague will face Perfumerias Avenida in the third place match on the same day.
On the other hand, FIBA Europe President Turgay Demirel, FIBA Europe Director Kamil Novak, Fenerbahçe Women’s Football Team players and Fenerbahçe Opet Women’s Volleyball Team captain Eda Erdem Dündar also watched the match.
