There are surprisingly many danger points in the kitchen.

The sharpness of a knife is of great importance in cooking. Roni Lehti

Even in the home kitchen, you should remember a few things so that cooking does not end in a boring way.

Surely each of us has at some point gotten a burn from an oven or a cut from a knife on our finger. Worse accidents can be avoided if you remember a few good tips.

The Huffington Post listed six home kitchen mistakes on their website that can be really dangerous. How many of them do you admit to doing yourself?

1. You don’t dry

Wet hands, wet cutting board, wet knife and wet fruit or vegetable. They are a dangerous combination.

The water makes the knife, the hands and the object to be cut slippery, so the knife easily slips to the wrong place and cuts the wound.

Keep a clean kitchen towel or paper towel nearby to dry your hands, knife, cutting board and ingredients before you start chopping.

2. You leave the place

If you leave the kitchen unattended in the middle of cooking or baking, you are close to danger.

Unsupervised cooking can start a kitchen fire. A particularly risky situation is when you fry food on the stove.

This may sound like simple advice, but despite that, many people leave the stove in the middle of cooking. If you forget to put food in the oven, you should start using a timer. Last but not least, its zest Makes you want to check the food situation.

3. A dull knife

You don’t immediately think of a dull knife as dangerous, but it is to the greatest extent, more so than a sharp knife.

When the blade is not sharp, more force is required to cut, increasing the risk of the knife slipping.

4. Fire risk

Do you leave a dishtowel, potholder, paper towel or food packaging near the hot hob?

In that case, they may catch fire easily.

5. Careless storage of the knife

The knife may be left in a place where it can easily fall. If the knife is too close to the edge of the table, you can accidentally knock it on the floor. At worst, you might get a bad wound on your leg.

6. A sharp surprise in the kitchen sink

Soaking sharp kitchen utensils or simply forgetting them in the sink can end badly.

Knives, pizza cutters, Mandolines or any sharp object should be hand washed as soon as possible and not just thrown into a soapy sink to be washed later. Knives dipped in soapy water are just waiting for an innocent fingertip.
