Two companies are interested in buying the Russian business of the Danish brewery Carlsberg (Carlsberg, Kronenbourg, Holsten, Tuborg brands), including the Russian soft drink manufacturer Chernogolovka, writes Danish newspaper Berlingske, citing sources.

According to the publication, Chernogolovka is interested in buying the Russian brewing company Baltika, owned by Carlsberg. These are eight breweries with a staff of more than 8 thousand people.

“Chernogolovka” is known, among other things, for the carbonated drink “Baikal”.

The second potential buyer of the Russian business of Carlsberg is the Israeli company CBC Group, the sources said. In 2008, a Danish beer manufacturer sold her a stake in Israel Beer Breweries. Israel Beer Breweries, founded by Carlsberg and CBC Group in 1992, has been licensed to sell Carlsberg and Tuborg beer in Israel and, since 1968, Coca-Cola drinks, writes Berlingske.

Carlsberg’s business in Russia was valued at almost 20 billion Danish kroner ($2.9 billion), the newspaper reports.
