illie Eilish adds vegan restaurants and indie shops in Cologne to her eco-guide. The sustainability travel guide to the “Hit Me Hard and Soft” tour.

Billie Eilish expands her global sustainability travel guide, Billie’s Eco Food and Fashion Guide. This was launched at the end of September 2024 in the French Canadian city of Quebec City as part of their “Hit Me Hard and Soft” world tour. The implementation takes place in collaboration with Google Maps.

Cologne in the focus of the German recommendations

Using the map app, fans receive information about environmentally friendly mobility, plant-based nutrition and sustainable fashion – tailored to the respective tour stops, which initially led across North America.

As a result of continuous additions, the German profile has now been sharpened, with the current focus on Cologne. For Berlin there was already information about local transport with BVG and S-Bahn.

Google Maps suggests climate-friendly routes during the tour: footpaths, public transport, bike sharing or fuel-efficient routes are displayed, provided they are as fast or practical as a car journey.

Eilish also lists vegan restaurants as well as sustainable fashion and second-hand shops in selected cities. The approach is not intended as a personal recommendation, but rather as a team-curated Google overview for sustainable decisions in everyday life.

Indie shops and vegan gastronomy in Cologne

The city was included in the guide on the occasion of their appearances at the Lanxess Arena in Cologne at the end of May 2025. Local media came across a longer list of indie shops and vegan restaurants.

This selection is expressly not intended to be complete and is subject to change. Some original recommendations from Cologne have currently been removed. Those involved have not yet commented on criteria or adjustments.

According to her own statements, Eilish herself is less concerned with canonization, as is the case with classic restaurant guides à la “Guide Michelin”, “Gault & Millau” or “Schlemmeratlas”, but rather with raising awareness of her topic.

Sustainability as a personal concern

Eilish underlines an attitude that has characterized her for years. The musician has been vegan since her youth and, together with her mother Maggie Baird, founder of the “Support + Feed” initiative, is committed to improving access to plant-based nutrition.

In statements, Eilish emphasizes that individual decisions – for example in mobility, food and consumption – can have an impact despite the global dimension of the climate crisis. Sustainability is not an abstract ideal, but rather a sum of many small actions.
