Fernando Vittar, how were your beginnings in your profession?
My beginnings were very much from the bottom. I was always an entrepreneur with a strong business outlook. I started Catapumba in 2016, in Lomas de Zamora, with a single location and a clear idea: to create a space different from the traditional gym. It wasn’t easy, there was a lot of learning, mistakes and adjustments, but from the first day I was convinced that if we could get people to enjoy training, the business would work. That approach was key to everything that came after.
What are the services you provide to the public?
At Catapumba we provide physical training for people of all ages, adapted to each level and need. But our service goes beyond exercise: we offer a community experience. In addition, the business is complemented with its own sports clothing, accessories, supplements, tournaments, competitions, a healthy bar and training. Everything is designed to generate habits, enjoyment and multiple sources of income.
How do you project yourself for the future?
My projection is to continue growing in an orderly and sustainable manner. Today the focus is on expanding Catapumba within the AMBA and the interior of the country, consolidating the brand and the system. At the same time, we are already working on proposals and advances to bring the model to other markets such as Mexico, Colombia, the United States and Spain.
If you were starting over, what would you do differently?
I wouldn’t change anything. Every mistake, every baton and every difficult decision were part of the path that made Catapumba grow. Everything good that happens to us today—and everything that we are beginning to reap and still need to build—is a direct consequence of that journey. If today the brand is solid, has a community and continues to grow, it is precisely thanks to what we learned in the past. I would relive the process as it was, because that is where the real learning lies.
