For as long as sports cars have existed, every manufacturer has always tried to create one capable of beating all the competition’s creations in terms of performance. And what better parameter to compare the potential of two supercarsif not that of maximum speed reachable? A real “level” against which parameters such as traction or rider ability can do little, while the engine fights against air resistance to gain a few kilometers per hour more than its rivals. It is therefore not surprising that maximum speed is one of the main criteria used for establish hierarchies in the Olympus of motoringfrom the beginning to the most recent times. In this sense we remember a real watershed event, the historic Bugatti undertaking in 2005, which pushed the Veyron until 408.47 kilometers per hour it marked a before and after in the history of speed records for road-approved production cars. Here the era of hypercarcars with absolutely extreme power created to explore the technical and technological limits of manufacturers, developed almost without considering costs. Below, we report the ranking of the five fastest cars in the world currently in force.
