Offensive talent Louey Ben Farhat from Karlsruher SC also wants to recommend himself for a place in Tunisia’s World Cup squad after his long injury break. In order to be able to talk about the tournament in the USA, Canada and Mexico in the summer, he would have to have played a few games first, the 19-year-old told the “Badische Neuesten Nachrichten”. But: “In March I will try to prove myself if I am invited.”
Ben Farhat and the KSC are currently preparing for the second half of the season at the winter training camp in Estepona, Spain. Due to a broken metatarsal, the attacker has not played a game for the Baden second division team since August. Ben Farhat could make his comeback in the test against Czech champions Slavia Prague on Saturday (3:30 p.m.).
The Karlsruhe storm jewel, which was particularly excited at the end of last season, was actually scheduled for the current Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco and was supposed to make its debut there for Tunisia’s senior national team. After an exchange between the club, association and player, coach Sami Trabelsi decided not to nominate the Waiblingen native.
“I would have shot myself in the foot if I had gone there with 80 percent,” said Ben Farhat. “My goal is to be invited again and again every time I go there.” With a market value of 3 million euros, Ben Farhat is one of the top 10 most valuable players in Tunisia. The offensive man starts the second division second half of the second half of the season with KSC on January 17th against Preußen Münster.
