Borussia Dortmund is worried about the use of goalkeeper Gregor Kobel shortly before the first game of the year on Friday.
According to consistent media reports, the Swiss is out of BVB’s training camp in Marbella, Spain, due to illness. His appearance in the away game at Eintracht Frankfurt on Friday (8.30 p.m.) is therefore questionable. In the past few days, Kobel had only trained in doses or individually.
Alexander Meyer as a replacement
Alexander Meyer would be available to replace the 28-year-old. Kobel has been between the posts in all 24 competitive games so far this season. BVB, which flies directly from Marbella to Frankfurt on Thursday, starts the new year in second place in the table with 32 points.
