Movement in the squad planning: Eintracht Braunschweig is taking another player under the microscope. He is a central defender from Moscow.
Eintracht Braunschweig is testing a second player, Mark Mampassi, in preparation for the second half of the season. The central defender took part in the team’s training for the first time on Wednesday. The club announced this late in the afternoon.
The 22-year-old Mampassi was born in Donetsk and has gained experience in Ukraine, Russia, Turkey and Belgium in his career so far. Mampassi is currently under contract with the Russian first division club Lokomotiv Moscow. Overall, he has, among other things, the experience of 35 games in the Belgian, 21 games in the Ukrainian and 18 games in the Russian elite league.
According to BTSV, his parent club has given the defensive player permission to appear at Eintracht Braunschweig on a test basis in the coming days. He has not played in Moscow this season. Last season he played 14 competitive games for the Belgian first division club KV Kortrijk, with whom he was relegated to the second division.
From October 2024 to January 2025 and from March to May 2025 he was out long-term due to adductor injuries. The market value of the central defender is estimated by the data portal “transfermarkt.de” at 400,000 euros.
In addition to Mampassi, offensive player Anas Bakhat is currently auditioning for Eintracht. The 25-year-old was under contract with third division club Alemannia Aachen until last summer and therefore knows BTSV coach Heiner Backhaus well. Read more about this here. Eintracht starts the second half of the 2nd Bundesliga on January 16th with a home game against 1. FC Magdeburg (kick-off: 6:30 p.m.).
