The municipality organizes shows at three locations: in De Rijp, Alkmaar Noord and the city center. The end-of-year shows should offer a festive and safe alternative to fireworks.
In De Rijp people are looking forward to the new year in the Minckelersstraat. From 6 p.m. there will be a supporting program with a DJ, presenter, video and quiz questions about the villages and the city. An hour later the show starts with lasers, sound, special effects and video.
In Alkmaar Noord, New Year’s Eve is celebrated in the Rekerhout Park. This show is essentially the same as the one in De Rijp. The supporting program starts at 6 p.m. and the real show starts an hour later.
Fireworks in the center
In the center, Ringersplein will be transformed into a festival square, with food, drinks and activities. From 6 p.m. there will be performances by various Alkmaar theater groups. A show with lasers, light, sound and special effects starts at 7 p.m.
At midnight, when 2026 begins, the highlight of the evening will follow, according to the municipality: a fireworks show set to music. It is supplemented with the same elements as the previous show.
All shows are free to attend. The end-of-year show on Ringersplein will be broadcast between 11 p.m. and 12:15 a.m. media partner Streeksstad Centraal.
