Russia mocks decision: “The robbery was not successful because the consequences were too severe for the thieves”

Russian President Vladimir Putin responded to the European Euroclear deal during his annual broadcast press conference. He doesn’t call it a potential theft, but a robbery. “Stealing is not really the correct definition. Someone does this secretly. This is open. This is robbery. It was not successful because the consequences would have been severe for the thieves.”
