Arie Boomsma drinks nothing with dinner five days a week and nothing afterwards. Two nights a week he sins and drinks wine. Why does he do that? “Because I like it.”
It’s a great day for anyone who has always wanted to know what exactly Arie Boomsma drinks in a day, because he finally explains it. Until now, no one really knew what exactly the dumbbell pastor clocks in a day, but now we know it to the nearest centiliter. “What I drink in a day,” his statement reads Instagram.
Five glasses of water
Immediately after getting up, around 5:30 am, Arie drinks five glasses of water and broth. “Usually ground chicken or beef. Sometimes mushrooms.”
About two hours later, for breakfast, he drinks kefir with creatine and a green drink. On the way to lunch, a cappuccino follows, undoubtedly with oat milk, and four glasses of water.
And what about lunch? “A smoothie. Always with vegetables, fruit, protein and creatine. And an espresso.”
Ginger shot
A ginger shot and four glasses of water follow between lunch and dinner. “Most days I don’t drink anything with dinner. And not after that either. Two days a week I drink wine with dinner.”
He continues: “Sometimes I drink a can of coconut water, a cup of tea, a shake or another recovery drink at the gym. But on most days, drinking at work just fits into this overview.”
Why wine?
Why does Arie drink that wine? “Because I like it. Just like the coffee. Significantly less functional than the rest on this list.”
Exactly how much wine does he drink? “Usually 1, sometimes 2.”
And how much moisture does it contain in total? “The aim is around 4 liters of fluid.”
Bulk drinking
Arie’s followers are very curious. “Do you drink those 4 or 5 glasses in a row? I’ve always thought that sips are better than a glass in one go,” says Marzonnetje.
Arie then: “Yes, I do that one after the other. These years I attach more value to the theory of bulk drinking than to sipping all day long.”
If we really want to live like Arie, we must of course know exactly how big his glasses are. Fortunately, that also becomes clear: “Most glasses here at home are around 250ml.”
