The 6th Islamic Solidarity Games ended after the 14th day of competitions. On the last day, Türkiye won 1 gold and 4 bronze medals in the para weightlifting, wrestling and handball branches. Türkiye won a total of 155 medals, including 72 gold, 44 silver and 39 bronze, and finished the games at the top for the second time in a row.
The Women’s National Handball Team defeated Kazakhstan 34-31 in the final of the Islamic Solidarity Games and won its second consecutive championship after Konya 2021. In para weightlifting, Besra Duman won the bronze medal with her 120kg lift in the women’s lightweight category, and Abdullah Kayapınar won the bronze medal with her 178kg lift in the men’s lightweight category. Osman Göçen, who represented Türkiye in the men’s wrestling freestyle 86kg category, and Hakan Büyükçıngıl won the bronze medal in the 125kg category.
On the other hand, the Islamic Solidarity Games ended with the closing ceremony. At the closing ceremony, the Turkish flag was carried by Furkan Yaman and Ceren Demirçelen, national athletes who won gold medals in the games.
