Drouwenerzand amusement park can breathe a sigh of relief. The gigantic work of art of a dolmen costing at least 50,000 euros may remain standing. The set piece was installed in September, but after complaints from the neighborhood it turned out that no permit had been applied for. The permit was finally granted this week.

“I was so enthusiastic that I didn’t think about the fact that I needed a permit for that,” Kevin Moespot said with a laugh in September. The work of art had been there for six months, but then an objection came from a local resident.

“Yes, it is actually a stupid and expensive joke. Naive too. Soon the call came from the municipality, saying that this is not possible without a permit,” says the owner.

It now appears that a permit has been requested for the set piece and has been granted, reports the municipality of Borger-Odoorn. The dolmen may now remain standing for five years with the possibility of an extension.
