The NRC podcast NRC Today won a Dutch Podcast Award on Tuesday evening in the Daily Podcast category. It’s the third time NRC Today wins the prize in that category: this also happened in 2023 and 2024. Presenter Art Rooijakkers quotes it jury reportwhich states that the NRC podcast is “relevant, curious and creative every day”, a combination that is “leading in the podcast world” and “unique”.

Since 2019, the NRC editorial staff has produced an episode every working day about the most important story of that day. “It is once again a reward for our team, which is always busy – often together with our writing colleagues – to tell a news story in the best possible way in twenty minutes,” said head of the audio editorial team Rogier van ‘t Hek in response to the win.

“The fact that we won for the third time in a row makes us extra proud,” said Van ‘t Hek. “It is a sign that the format is standing, also with our new presenter Bram Endedijk, who has clearly made his own contribution last year. This of course also applies to Gabriella Adèr, who has been behind the microphone for some time.”

Other awards went to, among others, on the evening Three Quarters by Willie Wartaal and Freddy Tratlehner (in the Chatcast Entertainment category) and No man’s landa podcast by de Volkskrant about crimes committed by people with serious psychiatric problems (in the Journalism category). Mino’s Empireabout the career of football agent Mino Raiola, won the prize for best podcast.

The Incredible Podcast won in the Best Interview category, with a conversation with the Palestinian-Dutch EO presenter Kefah Allush. Also NRC podcast The Hourpresented by Pieter van der Wielen, was nominated in the best interview category. The nomination was for an episode with journalist Pjotr ​​Sauer, about how his home country Russia changed under the presidency of Vladimir Putin.
