After Thursday evening’s debate on SBS6, De Hond conducted a new poll, as he presented at Café Kockelmann. In recent times, the VVD in particular has struggled with disappointing polls, but that tide now seems to have turned.

The latest forecast shows that the PVV will remain relatively stable and will end up with 29 seats. GL/PvdA also remains at 24 seats, which means that Frans Timmermans’ party would finish second. The CDA drops to two seats (from 24 to 22 seats).

The VVD shows the most remarkable jump: Dilan Yesilgöz’s party rises from 16 to 20 seats, including at the expense of JA21. The party is still losing (based on the current number of seats), but seems to have found its way up.

JA21 drops, D66 stable

JA21, the party of party leader Joost Eerdmans, drops from 11 to 9. Rob Jetten’s party (D66) does not rise any further and remains stuck at 17 seats.

The poll by De Hond follows the very well-watched broadcast of SBS, where PVV leader Geert Wilders was present and was shocked. The PVV has fallen considerably across the board: the party now still has 37 seats, but according to the latest forecast it will end up with 29 seats.

The chance that PVV leader Geert Wilders will again participate in a coalition is quite small: middle parties do not want new cooperation with Wilders’ party. This means there is a significant chance that the party will disappear back into the opposition benches.
