There would be no Ardooie fair without a cyclo-cross. It remained exciting for a long time on the bone-dry course, with no fewer than eleven leaders who set the pace. Names such as Toon Aerts, Michael Vanthourenhout, Joran Wyseure, Victor Vandenberghe, Kamp, Orts, Mason and Gerben Kuypers alternated in the leading group.
It was mainly the riders from Pauwels Sauzen – Altez Industriebouw and Crelan – Corendon who did the forcing, but there was no separation until the last round.
Ultimately, Vanthourenhout came out of the last corner first, but in the sprint he had to let Aerts in front. Joran Wyseure completed the podium.
