Jamai Loman’s performance as presenter of the Soldaat van Oranje special of Stars on Stage causes media journalist Jef Willemsen some concern. “I’m not a doctor, but…”
Jamai Loman was on RTL 4 last weekend with a special of the program Stars on Stage, in which seven former participants of the program sing various songs from the longest-running musical in the Netherlands: Soldaat van Oranje. It all attracted little attention, but one thing did stand out: Jamai’s appearance.
Noticeable difference
There was a national fuss in March about a press photo from The Voice, in which Jamai looked like some kind of inflated wax figure. As if it had been heavily photoshopped. But this weekend the presenter looked much thinner again. And that is strange, says media journalist Jef Willemsen X.
Jef lines up two photos of Jamai (see above and below) and writes: “Maybe the oversized tuxedo on the left is a distorted image, perhaps it is his more open look… But there is a noticeable difference between the left Jamie in the Soldier special and how he looked at the beginning of this year when the final of Stars on Stage was shown.”
Kidney transplantation
A certain Jo thinks it has a medical reason. “Maybe because he is on prednisone (?) and other medication after his kidney transplant?”
Jef then says again: “No idea, I’m not a doctor 🙂 I noticed it because there was so much fuss about his ‘artificial’ press photos of The Voice Kids last March. He was already called ‘Jam-AI’, while according to Jamai and RTL themselves, nothing had been edited.”
Jo finally: “I’ve also been transplanted so I’m betting that’s it.”
