For striker Robert Lewandowski, the season at Spanish champions FC Barcelona is apparently over. Like the newspaper “sport” reports that the expiring contract of the 37-year-old Pole will no longer be extended. The search for a successor has already begun with the Catalans.
The seven-time Bundesliga top scorer has been playing for Barça since 2022 and has once again demonstrated his goalscoring qualities this season with four goals in seven league games. However, his age and the fact that he cannot put the opponents under pressure at the same speed as his teammates are said to be the reasons for a realignment in coach Hansi Flick’s team.
The Cameroonian Karl Etta Eyong (21) from UD Levante is considered his successor, who could compete with Ferran Torres (25) for the place in the middle of the attack. Etta Eyong is one of the shooting stars in Spain: with eight goals in eight appearances, he is one of the best scorers in LaLiga, and in the latest market value update he went up from 5 million to 20 million euros.

Argentine world champion Julián Alvarez (25) from Atlético Madrid has also been linked to Barça in the past, but is said to be unaffordable for the financially troubled club – his market value is 100 million euros.
