It must be quite a pill to swallow for Miljuschka Witzenhausen that her mother Astrid Holleeder did not receive the welcome they both probably hoped for. What does she think of the VI bashing?
Astrid Holleeder is not averse to a little publicity. She really wanted to be on television and she succeeded. Although she first offered herself to Johnny de Mol’s talk show, but SBS 6 found her too expensive, she has now found shelter at RTL 4, which devoted almost an entire broadcast of RTL Boulevard to the unveiling of her face.
‘Go away!’
That Masked Singer-like revelation of Astrid’s face was funny, but one interview about her infamous brother Willem Holleeder later, she is now just another talking head at RTL Tonight. Her performances receive little praise. It is mainly the show where she hugged an Andrew Tate supporter that she lost a lot of sympathy with.
Johan Derksen doesn’t think the whole Astrid thing is that special, he sneered in VI. He was annoyed by an Instagram post in which Astrid hinted at her departure from RTL Tonight, but that turned out to be a cry for attention. “Dear Astrid, if you are sensible, you will do RTL a favor and leave!”
What does Miljuschka think?
What does Miljuschka Witzenhausen, who introduced her mother Astrid to RTL, think of those sneers at Today Inside? “Oh, it doesn’t surprise me. Look, it’s all work in the end. That’s just the media landscape we live in. I can’t worry about that. Just let it go,” she responds in the Weekend.
How does she think Astrid is doing? “Very good. Considering that we in the media normally all start for three chicks and make a horse’s head with television, like with an AT5 or previously with TMF. She does it in one go for an audience of millions. I think she holds her own there, I respect her.”
Beautiful things
It looks like RTL Tonight will be going off the air soon. Is it over with Astrid’s TV work? “I think that she will ultimately do very nice things, but that she first has to land in this world. She could bring a lot of content to the media landscape that has not been there before. I am very much looking forward to that.”
Miljuschka herself especially likes that Astrid has left anonymity. “The fact that you can say that it is your mother who is standing next to you, instead of having to keep making up some stupid excuse, is very nice.”
