Silvia Venturini Fendi releases the creative direction of the Italian fashion house.
The designer, who represents the third generation of the Fendi family, takes on the role of honorary president on October 1, shared the fashion house belonging to the French luxury goods group LVMH on Monday evening. In this position, she will concentrate on the support of the Fendi heir, while she continues to work for the brand worldwide.
“Fendi led her vision of his Roman craft roots and culminated in the celebration of the 100th anniversary of the house,” said Fendi CEO Ramon Ros. “I am enthusiastic about the new projects that Silvia will lead in her new position and which will not only contribute to the inheritance and values of Fendi, but also to the world of design and craftsmanship around the world.”
At the creative tip of Fendi
She looks back at the creative tip for more than 30 years. Fendi has been working closely with Karl Lagerfeld since 1992 and took over the accessory and men’s fashion lines two years later. During her time together, the designer, who died in 2019, headed her to nourish and protect her own creative vision in order to be able to go her own way, summarizes Venturini Fendi.
After Kim Jones’s departure last October, she was also responsible for the Womenswear line, whose SS26 collection presented the fashion house in Milan last week.
“It was a wonderful journey, not only in creative terms, but also in human terms: first through my connection with Karl Lagerfeld, then with Kim Jones and last but not least with my fantastic team, which has become part of my family over the years,” says Silvia Venturini Fendi.
A new creative organization for Fendi is to be announced in due course.
