Bochum crisis continues

Shortly before kick -off, there are unsightly scenes in the Bochum stadium. Then the game between VfL and Fortuna begins with a fright for the hosts. After that it gets tough.
A very important victory for Fortuna Düsseldorf – while the VfL Bochum crisis is further worsened: 1: 0 (1: 0) on Saturday evening in the top game of the 2nd Bundesliga at VfL and climbing at least in 9th place.
Tim Oberdorf (4th) scored the goal of the evening early in the game. The game started with a ten -minute delay because pyrotechnics was ignited in the guest block. There was also a short break later in the game because a floodlight mast had failed.
Meanwhile, Bochum received the fifth defeat in a row and remains in the penultimate place in the table.
The hosts mostly had the game control after the early goal, but did not necessarily play forward at all. The fans acknowledged the idea of the Bochumer with whistles at the break.
It was only in the final phase when the guests had shifted to the counter game that it became dangerous in front of Florian Kastenmeier’s goal. However, the Bochumers were no longer rewarded and David Siebert received the second defeat in his second game as an interim coach after the separation from Dieter Hecking.
At the end of the early goal, the Düsseldorfers were enough to strengthen coach Thioune and to take revenge for the relegation debacle in May 2024. At that time, the Fortuna had given a 3-0 backlog in the second leg against Bochum and missed the climb.
