A new success for the Dutch 3 × 3 basketball. After the world title was already conquered in Mongolia at the end of June, the Dutch 3 × 3 basketball players won the European title on Sunday evening. In Copenhagen, Azerbaijan won 21-16 in the final.
Janis Boonstra, Noortje Driessen, Lotte van Kruistum and Zoë Slagter remained unbeaten during the tournament. In the quarter and semi-final, the team of Hungary and France both managed to beat 21-10. Noortje Driessen, good for 11 points in the final alone, has become the top scorer of the championship with a total of 49 points.
The Dutch men, the team in which Driessen’s brother Jan, among others, plays, this European Championship achieved a less good result. The team that was still good for Olympic good in 2024 was eliminated by Italy earlier on Sunday in the quarterfinals.
