At K-supermarket in Lauttasaari, Helsinki, Valio’s Black Stamp Emmental is available in 700 grams only when requested by the seller. The reason for removing the cheese from the cheese shelf is barren.
– If the black stamps are normally on the shelf, they will have been twitched shortly, the merchant Ali Tikkala says.
Tikkala says that the black stamps had been hidden several years ago.
– I don’t remember the exact time, it has been so long, but for quite some time we were suffering from the situation before we decided to stop beating the head on the wall.
Every time we have tried to bring the cheeses back, but to no avail.
– After a while, they have disappeared again.
– For ordinary customers, this is a miserable thing, but we have had the practice for so long that our customers have become accustomed to it. Of course, we also know that we are losing a little sales here, as not everyone can ask for cheeses from the seller.
Tikkala says that customers who are caught in shoplifting are not regular customers of the store.
– Of course, we don’t know what’s in the background, but it seems like you don’t take them to your own consumption. Nobody needs ten packages of Valio’s 700 gram black stamp.

Beef fillets and coffee also hidden
Tikkala has also had to take the more expensive meat out of the meat shelf.
– From there they were stolen every time. Knowledge of the flesh reached some hours or at the latest within a couple of days, after which the meat went on to walk. Now the fillets are at the service counter.
In addition to the meat and black stamp, K -supermarket Vattuniemi has also had to hide the Nescafé Gold short coffee bags. The packages on display were repeatedly stolen. Now you can get instant coffee on request.
Tikkala has not hidden tentacles, but Hartwall’s tentacle is only sold in the shop in many packages. Stealing a multi -pack is more difficult than individual cans.
Iltalehti previously reported that Lidl in Vantaa, Fazer’s chocolate bars are equipped with alarms. K-supermarket in Vattuniemi has not been encountered in chocolate theft.
Tikkala says that shopplace theft is generally not the biggest problem, but every time cases are annoying.
– It’s really annoying. We know that we make it difficult to shop for normal customers when we have to hide the products and give them under the counter. Thefts also furrow financially.
The merchant says he does not believe the situation will improve.
– This is somehow used to this, which is a bit of a bad thing. I hope that this kind of activity will not be encouraged in any way. Sometimes there have been outputs that stealing is ok if there is a real need. Yes, things should be done in some other way than by stealing.
