RImini, 28 Aug. (askanews) – The Olympic dream becomes more and more concrete. In Cortina, the first athletes have inaugurated the spectacular Bob track that will host the Milan-Cortina 2026 races. A structure called ‘phenomenal’ that has given unique emotions to those who had the honor of testing it first. The point on the works did it at the Rimini Meeting Flavio Roda, president of the Italian Winter Sport Federation.
“By now the Olympics are close, so you have to prepare, you must really try to get ready” explains Rosa showing optimism for infrastructure. “The only thing that really worried was the Bob, Skeleton and Sledtino track and instead a masterpiece was made. I made the whole path on foot inside the track: it is phenomenal, truly an exceptional structure”.
The new Cortina track represented a technical and emotional challenge for the athletes who tested it first. Giada Andreutti, Bob’s pilot and first woman to go down, told the emotion of that moment: “We dreamed of this track a lot, we were afraid that they could not do it. For me it was a great honor, one of the most important moments of my life. I am proud to have been part of this historical moment”. The track is not only spectacular but also innovative, made for the future, for young people who want to train in this discipline. Lorenzo Bilotti, braking of the Bob national team: “It is very adrenaline. From a certain point of views there is always a little anxiety and respect for our discipline and for the track itself. In Cortina there was also an emotional aspect of being able to finally go down to their country, on the track that will be of the Olympics”.
Also Giovanni Marchetti, athlete of Skeleton, tells of the latest ice tests. “The first approach with the track was beautiful the track is very beautiful, fast, going down is exciting. After six years of activity I made my first descents in Italy, fortunately, so it was very excited and we can’t wait to go back to us”.
Even Mattia Gaspari does not hide the emotion: “I certainly expect great things because I am from Cortina, it will be a strong emotion to compete at home”.
