Wilfred Genee believes that there is remarkably little attention for the approaching return of Arjen Lubach. He even jokingly wonders if the satirist still has a contract with RTL 4. “Beyond?”
It is all a bit painful for Arjen Lubach: he was brought in big by RTL 4, as the man who was going to save the late evening of the channel. Well, the viewing figures were not downright and all the focus is no longer on Arjen, but on the new prestige project of channel boss Peter van der Vorst: RTL Tonight.
“Arjen doesn’t exist!”
Really publicity goes to RTL Tonight, while there is virtually no attention for Arjen who returns from his umpteenth RTL holiday. “Nobody is doing that anymore, isn’t it, with Lubach?”, Johan Derksen notes in Today Inside.
Bargast Tina Nijkamp: “No! Nobody is talking about that!”
Johan: “It no longer exists!”
“Another contract?”
Wilfred Genee teases Arjen a little further. “Does he come back or is it ready? Does he have a contract or not?”
Tina: “Yes, he still has a contract, but I don’t know how long.”
Wilfred: “Yes, he still has a contract? He has a lot of houses, but I don’t know if he still has a contract.”
René van der Gijp: “I think it is a boy who thinks that is very disappointing. Do you not think?”
Dulhannes
Johan sees that Arjen has already been replaced at the VPRO. “The VPRO now gets such a new Lulhannes, isn’t it? I saw him in the picture and I thought: no dog is watching that.”
