Today is the first day of arrival at Rock im Park 2026 in Nuremberg – and it is a public holiday in Bavaria. Anyone who takes advantage of the bridge day can start the festival weekend in a relaxed manner today. Waiting festival-goers have been milling about in front of the site since the early hours of the morning; some were even in the starting blocks on Wednesday evening. The official opening time of the campsites was set for 9 a.m., but the first guests were allowed onto the site at around 3 a.m. For some people, getting started early was worth it.
However, this was annoying for late arrivals: some campsites like Green Camping were already full before 9 a.m. and the best places were already taken. The official Rock im Park app did not reflect this development – it said until 9 a.m., as officially announced: All campsites were not yet open.
Relaxed atmosphere despite long queues
The queues got longer and longer, but the mood remained relaxed. According to Nürnberger Nachrichten, the police also draw a positive conclusion: things are significantly more relaxed than last year. A security report at half past ten confirmed a similar picture: around 8 a.m. it was still a bit chaotic, but they had now settled down. Everything also seems to be under control in the queues: one lane of the street An der Ehrenhalle was briefly closed in order not to endanger the crowds of people on the sidewalk. The same applies to Schultheissallee, where security staff also blocked off a lane because of pedestrians on the road.
Good mood and dry weather
The visitors to Rock im Park wait and wind their way through the streets of Nuremberg, hoping to soon find entry to the campsite – and then hopefully a good spot for their own tent. Despite the long waiting times, people seem to be in a happy mood and the weather has been playing along so far. It stays dry and should stay that way throughout the day. The probability of precipitation only increases in the evening hours. Hopefully most of those waiting will have set up camp by then. And at least your throats won’t stay dry until you wait in line: you have enough time to open your first beer.
