1/2 Deceased person found under suspicious circumstances
On Friday evening, the police arrested a man who would have been involved in the death of an 86-year-old man in Bergeijk. The victim was found dead earlier in the evening on a residential area at a house on the Maaij. He did not live in the house, but is family of the residents, a police spokesperson reports.
According to the police, the victim was found under suspicious circumstances, it was announced around a quarter past seven Friday evening. The suspect was arrested around half past three in a farm, not far from De Maaij, near the Belgian border. It is not known how old he is and where he comes from.
In and around the house where the victim was found, a large (traces) investigation started after reporting the find. The police use detectives from forensic investigation, drones and tracking dogs, among others. The address includes a store with, among other things, second -hand items. It is located in a former farm.
A farm near the home where the victim was found would also be involved in the investigation. Despite the suspect’s arrest, the investigation can take a long time.
De Maaij is located in the outskirts of Bergeijk. There are farms and detached houses scattered along this road.
