Wanner says it is very happy with the new challenge. “I want to contribute as much as possible to the success here and help the club with goals and assists. I feel ready for this challenge and know that this step is the right one.”

PSV was his first choice to play. “Head coach Peter Bosz and the board members have made it very clear to me that they really want me here and how I can help the team in the best possible way. I look forward to getting to know everyone from the club and our fans. I want to be successful here on a large national and international stage. I am sure it will be a great journey, in which we will hopefully win.”

The German youth international is a direct reinforcement for PSV, says technical director Earnest Stewart. “Paul is a creative, dynamic, attacking and modern midfielder. He is an open boy who asks many questions. Really someone with the willingness to get better, you notice that in all conversations. We see a wonderful future for him in Eindhoven, both sporty and personal.”
