The challenge is simple: participants start lying on the beach, with the face away from the flags. As soon as the starting signal sounds, they have to get up as quickly as possible, sprint and try to grab one of the flags that have been set up twenty meters away. It requires speed, reflexes and accepting some sand in the mouth.
In total, a hundred sports enthusiasts participated in the competition. For the women, Chloë Porton from Leuven was the fastest, while among the men the Dutch Marijn in’t Veld won the victory.
