The Basketball Löwen Braunschweig rely on an experienced returnee during the promotion of talent: A well -known name takes over the youth coordination for the new season.
The basketball Löwen Braunschweig and their cooperation partner SG Junior Löwen have signed Harald Stein as the new young coordinator. The native of Braunschweig takes over the position for the coming season and will take care of the individual promotion of young talents and the connection to the cooperation partner SG Braunschweig.
Harald Stein himself was a player of SG Braunschweig in the 1990s and made a significant contribution to leading the club to the German Basketball Oberhaus. The 58-year-old played for the club in the first and second Bundesliga for over ten years and became the best German scorer four times. He was also active in the national team.
After his active career, Stein took on numerous functions in the promotion of young talent – among other things as head of the Fraport Skyliners, as a national coach for the male youth area at DBB and most recently as a professional director at the Basketball Academy in Budapest.
“It feels good when Braunschweig in Braunschweig do what I have learned here first of all: work patiently at high goals, in a team with great people. And I’m already hot for the basket throwing in the Prinzenpark,” Stein is quoted. Those responsible for basketball Löwen and the SG Junior Löwen were also pleased with the obligation.
A Braunschweig “basketball legend” bend back to the lion city, according to the press release. Löwen managing director Nils Mittmann sees an enormous profit, especially in the close connection from stone to the city of Braunschweig. “In addition, he brings a lot of experience in young talent at a high level,” said Mittmann. “That is why we are convinced that he will enrich and advance our support and development of young players with his basketball skills.”
