Basel (dpa -AfX) – New data from Roche confirm a long -lasting effectiveness of the eye remedy Susvimo. As the Swiss pharmaceutical company announced on Friday, data from the PHASE III study Portal underpinned the effectiveness of the means in patients with neovascular age-dependent macular degeneration (NAMD).
The results showed that the immediate and persistent effectiveness of Susvimo has been preserved over five years, with about 95 percent of the patients treated every six months, no additional treatment required before each replenishment.
According to the announcement at the 2025 annual conference of the American Society of Retina Specialist (ASRS), the data was presented in California.
Susvimo is a refillable eye implant that is surgically inserted into the eye during a unique outpatient intervention. It enables the continuous administration of an individually adapted ranibizumab formulation via the Port Delivery Platform, while other currently approved treatments may require monthly eye injections./HR/AWP/HE
