US President Donald Trump ordered the relocation of two nuclear submarines to deal with the former Russian head of state Dmitri Medvedev.
This is “only in the event that these foolish and provocative statements are more than just that,” wrote the Republican on his Truth social platform. It was initially unclear where the submarines were laid. Trump only wrote of “suitable regions”.
The US President also wrote: “Words are very important and can often lead to unintentional consequences”. He hoped that this would not be one of these cases.
Dispute over ultimatum
Trump and Medledew have been fighting publicly for days. The starting point was Trump’s new ultimatum, in which he shortened the deadline for a ceasefire or peace between Russia and the Ukraine attacked by Moscow – and threatened with sanctions. This deadline will take place next week.
Medvedev then threatened a direct military discussion between Russia and the United States on platform X. Each ultimatum is therefore a step on the way to the war. He described Trump as “grandpa”. Medwedew also wrote that the US President should remember the danger of zombies if he philosophized about the death of the Indian and Russian economy.
Trump had explained that he also wanted India at least 25 percent tariffs and a “punishment” because of his trade relationships with Russia and called both economies dead.
US exchanges deep red
The US exchanges significantly give in. The Dow Jones index loses 1.55 percent to 43,444.79 points, the Nasdaq Composite also illuminates 2.59 percent to 20,575.20 points.
