After a close final, Marianne Vos recaptured the yellow jersey at the third stage of the Tour de France.
The Dutch woman finished second behind her compatriot Lorena Wiebes.
The three-time German cycling champion Liane Lippert ended the 163-kilometer journey from La Gacilly to Angers after a strong final sprint in fifth place.
An outlier group around Canadian Alison Jackson had cited the race over long distances, but was obtained from the main field after the intermediate sprint.
In the overall ranking, VOS received six bonus customers and changed the top position with the Mauritierin Kim Le Court Pienaar, who had just passed the day before.
In contrast, the street Olympic champion in 2012 was replaced by the stage winner Wiebes.
Fulling plunges shortly before the finish
A few kilometers before the home stretch, a fall around Demi full ring shaken the field. The tour winner of 2023 is also a favorite this year and was part of the victory in the mostly flat stage. After her fall, the Dutchman reached the finish line with visible pain at the end of the field, but only fell back in the overall ranking.
Because the fall within the five -kilometer zone occurred in front of the target, full of time – apart from the credits for the best three drivers – lost a further time for flat stages.
Lippert had lost almost seven minutes at the opening stage after a fall, but was impressively back on the second stage as a fourth. With fifth place, she now underlined her good shape. The next best German came to Franziska Koch as 54th.
