ARD presenter Zamperoni raves about Lipowitz

So far, Florian Lipowitz has been going very well at the Tour de France. With Ingo Zamperoni, the German cyclist has a prominent admirer.
The “Daily Topics” moderator explained during the tour broadcast on the current overall classification podium consisting of Tadej Pogačar, Jonas Vingegaard and Lipowitz: “A German on the podium, at least in the classification. This is insane.” However, Zamperoni finds the “story” of Lipowitz even more than “the fact that such a young driver from Germany holds with the two top stars”.
The moderator raved: “He only did the first professional race five years ago.” Previously, Lipowitz was active as a biathlete. Due to injuries, however, he had to train more on the bike and trained. Therefore, Zamperoni said that there are certainly people who could now get “a bit of hope” to restart.
The 51-year-old said about Lipowitz: “This is crazy. This is a career changer if you want it that way that comes from the biathlon. These are stories that protrude and make it interesting.”
Zamperoni also emphasized Lipowitz’s “nonchalance”. The moderator himself sits on the bike from time to time, but as a “compensatory sport” for everyday work, as he said. However, as a half -Italian, the “culture” of cycling “packed” him.
