Since the expansion of the Zwin, more seawater has been entered and that is good for the lamb’s ear. The plant gains some terrain every year. Only in the Zwin does the flower bloom so exuberantly. Lamsoor is, unlike at the restaurant, not edible. But very nice to see.

“The flowering of the plant is an annual moment of nature that many visitors to the Zwin Natuur Park are looking forward to. The vast, purple flower carpet that unfolds in the Zwinvlakte not only yields unique images, but also shows how special the tidal landscape is in the Zwin,” says Ina de Wass, director of the Zwin Natuur Park.
